But let's be honest about what we found.
Setup is hard. Not "takes an afternoon" hard. Genuinely hard. You need to be comfortable in a command line. You need to understand configuration files. One of OpenClaw's own maintainers said publicly that if you can't run a command line, it's probably too dangerous for you to use safely. That's not us being cautious. That's the people who built it.
The costs can sneak up on you. Because the agent is working in the background, it's making a lot of AI calls you never see. Something that looks like a simple task might quietly burn through far more tokens than you'd expect. Without hard spending limits set on your accounts, the bills can get uncomfortable fast.
And security matters here. OpenClaw can touch your email, your calendar, your files. That's what makes it powerful. It's also what makes a misconfigured setup genuinely risky, especially in a business setting.
Where We Actually Land
This is a big deal. A real next step for personal AI. We'll keep saying that.
